Today i came across some interesting plans of the station in 1903. They show the circular staircase in the pepperpot still extant and the possibilty of the trains crossing the rails to settle in sidings alongside the up track to London Bridge.
I forgot to say. several years ago we retrieved the two pairs of platform doors from the station out of a skip. Very handsome with huge bolts.
Nice photo's, strange how a place looks different when it's desserted.
Lovely shots - especially the staircase.
yes, its a shame its likely to be pulled down shortly. great photos dd
