There will never be another direct train to Charing cross ever again. Yet these developers still manage to hoodwink desperate buyers into buying tiny little flats in an area with few amenities.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7397970649062371366.post-36651020806145541192014-07-10T15:31:08.418+00:002014-07-10T15:31:08.418+00:00@Anonymous 10 July 2014 11:07

It was Addey & Stanhope School's FOUNDERS DAY 2014. In the morning I attended the 'A Deo et Rege' Church Service, led by the Rev Chris Moody, at St Alfege's Church, Greenwich SE10, and in the evening I attended the Old Scholars reunion at the school. As my old friend Andrew Webster said it was a great night out, and such a good turnout from classes 1V, 1M and 1R of 1967. It will be this famous Deptford school's 300th birthday in 2015, and the £1 billion pound regeneration of Convoys Wharf SE8 has reached a critical stage of planning too. Any idea what happened to the mulberry tree? I went past this morning and I'd say about 25% is dead. One large part of the main trunk has died and fallen off, or possibly sheared off and then died. With regard to Convoys we seem to have finally exorcised Murdoch & News International PLC, but Deptford is still a long way from getting the inspired, and inspiring design solution that it so deserves, and Farrells and the London Festival of Architecture both ignored approaches from the A Deo et Rege Deptford Team (the LFA censored facebook comments and Farrells stopped communicating when we asked for tickets to Sir Terry Farrell's lecture at RIBA London). We involved HRH The Prince of Wales at inception, and I'd be interested to know what he and The Prince's Foundation think of yet another piece of UK PLC advertising where 'all matters reserved other than access and the siting and massing of three tall buildings'.vesperhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08218369501123975523noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7397970649062371366.post-55276950729003545212013-08-11T10:06:48.471+00:002013-08-11T10:06:48.471+00:00Thank you for all the thought, research and intell...Thank you for all the thought, research and intelligence put into this article. It really is not much better than the last, despite the tweaks. The problem seems to be the developer's insistence on 3500 units, and shame on Lewisham for agreeing "up to 3500 units" in 2005/6. It is simply unsustainable, without even considering the heritage assets that will be destroyed. And as regards heritage, this is wholesale vandalism. The good news is that there is still time to object.Suehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07914930883748622529noreply@blogger.com
